SCALE AND ARPEGGIO FUN! BOOK 1 — Major Keys
exercises for the working percussionist and aspriring student
Tony Oliver

level: I/HS/C/AC+

Book 1 (Major Keys) from the Scale and Arpeggio Fun! series is an exercise book for working professionals and aspiring students wishing to master their major scales and arpeggios or to keep them sharp. There are 30 different patterns to work through, each presented in every key. The principle is simple: by practicing scales and arpeggios (and double stop versions of them), you are getting ready to play them when they show up in your music. Given that scales and arpeggios are some of the most common note patterns you see in music, this can be a handy thing. Although the patterns in this book are by no means the final word on the subject--there is an inexhaustible supply of patterns one could come up with to practice--the exercises in this book should get you quite adept at finding your way fluently and fluidly around a keyboard.

This book is great for pros looking for some exercises to focus their practice and for students and teachers looking for that book of exercises to really develop basic scale, arpeggio, and theory skills. Very adaptable to a wide range of teaching styles. Check out the online .pdf for examples and check out all of the books in the Scale and Arpeggio Fun! series.
