This piece is originally written for 3 lead pipes and 3 roto-toms (3 small drums in the current version). This makes it easy to find the instruments, easy to set up, and easy to transport. Just the thing for the advanced performer who wants a great piece with interesting challenges, but who doesn't want to spend 5 hours setting up the piece (let alone moving it!).
